Best Parks in Vienna to Enjoy Spring

After experiencing another harsh winter with many subzero temperatures in Vienna, we were craving some time outdoors in the city and in nature. Here are some great park options and routes to enjoy the sunshine in the city:
1) Schönbrunn Park and Gardens
This is a large area in the city, and it's quite touristy. You can also visit the nearby zoo. Climbing up to the Gloriette to enjoy the view could make for a great date idea. Just don't forget to bring water—during the summer, it’s not as easy as it looks.
2) Türkenschanzpark
This park is a bit farther out from the city center and is not touristy at all. You’ll often see many families spending time here on weekends. It's a perfect spot to relax and read a book on a Sunday. The benches offer the best spots to enjoy the views.
3) Prater
Although Prater is quite touristy, it’s also a favorite among Viennese locals. It’s huge and offers many sports courts. On weekends, it can get crowded, but since the park is so large, the crowd doesn't bother anyone. There’s also an ice cream stand, which is always a good idea.
4) Ringstraße
Ringstraße is probably the most touristy area. Here, you can visit many of the top sights in Vienna, such as the Parliament, Rathaus, and Nationalbibliothek. Everything looks stunningly beautiful and very Viennese.
5) Donaustadtbrücke
Near the Danube, there are some paths you can follow that offer a quick getaway from the city. It’s very green and surrounded by nature. Some people even swim there, though I’m not a fan of that.
